Friday, January 27, 2006 - Silver is the new black

Today at long last I picked up my company car after waiting 4 weeks for the company to get it for me. It's a 2006 Ford Taurus, basic 4 door fleet vehicle. It's not a car that I would personally buy but hey, it's brand new, has ice cold A/C, that ' new car smell' and best of all it's free for me to drive anywhere in the continental United States including gasoline and insurance on my free time. By the continental United States, that basically means that I am not free to take the car into Mexico on a drunken fishing weekend with my buddies, but then again you can't have everything in life I suppose?!?! Drunken weekend drives to Canada are also excluded but then unlike Mexico, which is only 120 miles away I daresay it would take me more than the weekend to drive to Canada and back from California, so I guess I'll comply with corporate policy.

That brings our household to a total of 4 cars, a 1974 Jaguar XJ6L, a Jaguar XJS convertible, and a Jeep Grand Cherokee in addition to the new Ford Taurus.

The Ford is silver in color, it seems silver is the latest ' cool' color to have, 10 years ago it was black with black interior, these days everyone in LA seems to have a silver car, including me now.............
