Friday, January 20, 2006 - Corporate Decision Makers

When I started my new job I was issued with a Blackberry cell phone/PDA however one of the company rules are that we were not allowed to talk on the phone whilst driving the company car due to the high rate of accidents.

This rule has recently changed so at a sales meeting we were informed that we were now allowed to answer the phone with the prooper Bluetooth wireless headpiece. Since it does not come standard we were given a list of approved headpieces and asked to order it from the vendor, we were told not to expense it and that corporate would pay and deliver it to us.

Decision change # 2. After  I ordered it as mandated by company policy, the next day we were informed that the rules had changed and we were to order it via the Western division admin. person ( or whatever her title is), so I called her and informed her I had followed the initial instructions. She told me not to worry she would take care of it per the ongoing change in ordering procedure.

I came home yesterday to find the earpiece had been delivered via UPS and billed to the company per the original instructions.

I then opened my e-mail to find decision change #3, corporate would not be paying for the earpiece and if we wanted one we should order it at our own expense.............. too late mine has already been delivered and billed to the company.  An amazing  amount of time has been wasted deciding who should order what from whom , when and who should pay for it?!?!

Still waiting for my company car after accepting the job offer on Nov. 19th. If  that many e-mails and calls were distributed on a wireless earpiece it makes my head spin thinking about the process involved in getting a large item like a car??!?!
