Sunday, January 15, 2006 - Magic bus

The last week or so my 2 year old has been fascinated with buses, trying to figure out a 2 year olds thoughts is a challenge and Elina informed me that "Daddy bus" means that he wants me to take him on a bus ride, which I did for the first time today.

The route was planned and suggested by Elina which consisted of taking the bus down Wilshire Blvd to 'Sainsbury's deli and market'. Sainsbury's is owned by a fellow Brummie who is married to an Iranian, and sells lots of British goods.

James and I made our way onto the bus and up the few stairs to the elevated area at the rear of the bus and looked the window at the varoius landmarks he would recognize.

The ride was unremarkable to a grown man but fascinated James, especially the green light that illuminated everytime the rear bus doors were opened.

We bought some wine, Tetleys beer and English biscuits and sweets.Talked with the Brummie owner of the store and James helped to dust and clean the store with the owners feather duster.

On the short return journey James was fed  his first Cadbury's chocolate fingers while looking out the rainy window at the LA lights and Saturday night scenery.

I doubt James will remember his first ever bus ride, but his father will.
