Saturday, November 19, 2005 - Back in the saddle again?

This last couple of weeks have been very busy, looks like all this effort whoring myself around town looking for gainful employment is finally coming to fruition. I received an acceptable job offer from one of the positions I have interviewed for.

 The position is based locally however I will be out in the field as I used to be 12 years ago, pretty good base salary, company car, free gas, car insurance, commission and even a signing on bonus which is something I was completely not expecting. The company car will create an intersting dilemma as that would bring our total number of cars to 4, this could mean that I have to sell one of my beloved Jaguars? One is a 1974 XJ6L which I spent nearly 5 years  restoring, the other is a convertible XJS, we also have a Jeep Grand Cherokee, but that is Elina's car so there is no question of selling that with 2 kids. A bit reluctant to sell one of the Jags, the logical one to get rid of is the XJ6L,  I don't think it is worth what I invested restoring it, guess I will cross that bridge when I come to it.

Looking forward to getting back to work, this may sound ungrateful however part of me is questioning if it is the right move. The new position basically takes all the experience in electronics, International  sales and military programs I have learnt over the past 6 years and makes it totally redundant, since it is a completely different market where I can't utilise this experience.

Haven't agreed to make the move yet but it is the best offer to date so looks like I will be gainfully employed again come early December, fingers crossed.
