Sunday, November 13, 2005 - Triskaidekaphobia

 Today is November 13th and  in the car on my way to play soccer this morning I was listening to an article on the radio about the superstitious fear of 13, which as you can see by todays blog title is officially known as triskaidekaphobia.

I'm not very superstitious and will walk under ladders if need be to get from point A to point B, however there has always been something about the number 13 that makes me ever so slightly uneasy .

 As the radio article detailed the unlucky 13 has it's origins in religious beliefs, since Jesus Christ was the 13th person at the last supper in addition to his twelve disciples. I had just gone through listening to this piece on the radio when the driver in the car behind me( who I noticed had been annoyingly tailgating me for a few miles) managed to pull alongside me and motioned for me to lower my window, upon doing so he informed me that both of my brake lights were out .......coincidence?  The other issue that got me specifically thinking about the number 13 is that I have another job interview tomorrow, which I have spent this afternoon preparing for and researching the company. It sounds like a position that I really want,  however not helping me and already making me somewhat nervous is that this will be interview number 13! I guess we shall see if there is anything to this old superstition tomorrow.
