Tuesday, November 1, 2005 - Spanking my monkey

 Today we dressed our son in his monkey suit for Halloween, the day started at 9:45 AM with storytime at the local Barnes & Noble. The stories are read by the very gay and flamboyant John in a pirate suit, seems like a nice guy, he is always dropping his gay humor into the stories which go completely over the head of the majority Hispanic nanny and kids under 3 audience. Intermingled with today's childrens story readings were John Water's movies and his toga party in Las Vegas?!?! The kids got a little gift pack with candies and a pumpkin at the end.

It was really hot in Santa Monica today so we next went to the mall to enjoy the A/C, some trick or treating was done there too. After a quick afternoon nap we went to the local YMCA which had a do for the local kids. One of the funny things about being a parent is that people remember your son but have no idea what you or your spouses name is and vice versa. After a mammoth photo taking and play session we headed off to see some more haunted houses, which were decorated for Halloween. James loved his day and his parents are now very tired,  I feel like I've been out clubbing for the night, must be gettinmg old, I think we'll sleep like the dead tonight.
