Saturday, September 17, 2005 - The weekend becomes eclectic

Nothing specific to write about so I thought I’d start the weekend with some rambling thoughts, complete with a plagiarized title:

Our son James got his first haircut yesterday, he will be 2 years old next month and we previously just haven’t had the heart to cut his little golden baby locks off. He got a proper little short boy style. I was surprised just how much older it made him look, it just further reinforced that he is no longer a baby, but a little boy. Nevermind there’ll be another along shortly though…….. I just have to figure out how to feed them??

Had my sixth interview during the week. I wasn’t really interested however I have had a spat of insurance companies call me and it was close by where I live ( near LAX airport). It was one of the ‘big three’ insurance companies – at least that’s what the interviewer told me, pretty much commission only, so I got bored of what he had to say very rapidly. Nice guy, but he looked extremely stressed and burnt out and he reminded me a lot of Ari Gold from the Entourage comedy series. At one point during the interview he explained that he could not deal with the general public anymore, this didn’t exactly inspire me either.  He informed me I was over qualified and ‘ too sophisticated’ for the job…………… perhaps I should direct him to some of my BE posts?

Went to work out again today however I’ve recently had a problem with my lower back, I have had problems in the past and I think it’s my sciatic nerve since the pain goes all the way down the back of my leg. Overall I feel more fit and healthy and have increased the weight that I work out with, however I must say my gut does not seem to be shifting, probably because I don’t watch what I eat and have been overindulging on the red wine lately, mostly due to the fact that I don’t need to get up as early as when I had a job.

So there we have it, another exciting week ends for a middle-aged Brummie expat in Los Angeles………. This is the stuff dreams are made of zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
