Just to preface the story I would like to explain some details about the area where I reside. I live in a city in Southern California called Santa Monica, the city has a very diverse population demographic, literally ranging from millionaires and movie stars to alcoholic and mentally ill homeless people, I am neither a millionaire, movie star or homeless quite yet, however it is debatable whether I am an alcoholic and/or mentally ill.

 The apartment complex where I live has subterranean car parking with assigned spaces for residents to park their vehicles. I returned home today after yet another session at the gym and passed through the underground parking. One of my neighbors has a very nice new BMW 740 which I noticed had 2 flat tires on it, which is strange as he is very proud of his new ‘baby’. Being an upstanding member of the community I decided to do the decent thing and inform him, after knocking on his door and informing him as to the condition of his ride he replied that he was already aware of the situation. He in turn informed me that one of the many local nutcases had apparently slashed his tires. I thought it would be a prudent decision to check the tires on my three vehicles, however my neighbor added that my cars were okay, as the perpetrator went through a 1 or 2 block area on our street slashing only tires on German cars.

Upon returning down to the parking structure I noticed that one of my other neighbors new (and German) VW also had 2 flat tires, slashed on the same side as the BMW.

This is probably the only occasion in living history that I will be glad I have 2 old Jaguars, rather than a brand new ‘ultimate driving machine’ ………….. very strange?!?!
