 I started my day this morning alone with Degas, Manet, Renoir and Van Gogh. This is because the Norton Simon museum in Pasadena is a client of mine and I  got the chance to walk around some of the galleries before the exhibits open to the public.

 I've been to various museums however there is something eerie about spending time all alone with some of the old masters.

Having visited Paris, and having gone to see  the Mona Lisa in The Louvre you get a few seconds to glance at the piece before you are crowded out by  camera flashing tourists. From what I understand the Norton Simon museum is one of the best kept secrets in LA living under the shadow of it's big brother The Getty Museum, well worth a visit however there will probably be a few more heads standing in the way than when I was there;

The Norton Simon has a beautiful lily pond and gardens outside too.

In complete contrast I spent my afternoon at Universal Studios who is also a client of mine. Nice to get a behind the scenes look at the workings of a Hollywood studio and theme park. Interesting the diversity that Los Angeles can offer.

I think I'll start my morning surfing on the beach and end it skiing in the sierras in the afternoon................ beats shooting rats with an airgun down on the canals in Birmingham I suppose?!?!
