Kuwait to France. | |||
It is about time I updated this...Well as the previous posting says, we're here now. So I will not be posting on this blog any more, but I would like you all to come to our new blog at... Ex 'Expat' now in FranceAnd we are here (at last)Well after getting the dogs shipped out of Kuwait, without any real problems we moved on to the airport for our own flight which was supposed to be the one immediately after the one the dogs caught. Then we found out that the airport at Dubai had been closed due to zero visibility, FOG had closed ALL flights in and out, so of course our flight was cancelled. This of course then starts the worry factor to increase, there we were sitting in Kuwait hoping and waiting for Emirates Airline to get us booked onto another flight out, it turns out the next available flight would get us into Dubai after our connection to France had left...!!! Then of course we were worried about the dogs, they had safely arrived in Dubai before us, what do we do, should we ask Emirates to hold them in Dubai until we catch them up as we were supposed to be catching the later Dubai-Paris flight. Oh no, that won't work because it gets into Paris after the airport vets had closed for the day so we would not be able to get the dogs cleared through Customs, so they HAD to go on the originally scheduled flight. They safely arrived at Charles de Gaulle ariport 7 hours ahead of our arrival, the agents we had selected Goldenway International Pets arranged for their immediate Customs clearance and to hold them pending our arrival. Anyway we arrived at Dubai from Kuwait only 45 minutes before our Paris flight was due to depart, which of course meant that we had officially missed our Paris connection, but after explaining that the dogs had already flown on ahead of us, Emirates relented and allowed us to board the flight albeit without any luggage, there simply was not time to get it of our inbound flight and transfered onto the Paris one. So here we are in France, we've got the dogs, we're here and we expect our luggage to arrive in around 48 hours, fun hey...? But the most important thing is that we're here, our dogs are here and are well so nothing else really matters in the scheme of things. Buddy MapsOne of the others posting in the France forum came up with a great idea... A map showing other members locations.
Clike HERE to view full-size. Use the +/- icons to zoom in, or choose one of the members listed to the right of the map.
Photo Album onlineI've just uploaded a few of our photographs of the property, they can be viewed in the album by clicking here... Enjoy. More will no doubt be added when we actually get there. |
