looking to move to Canada

HI is there anyone hear who can help?
my wife and I and our 2 year old son want to move to Canada but I am a Gas engineer ( dig up streets new mains in road) and am wondering if anyone on here knows if there is a shortage of this skill set in Canada?

If you haven't already done so, you may want to check the official immigration site:

I'm not sure whether there is a need for your specialty; you could also make application as a skilled worker - although highly skilled workers who immigrate to Canada end up doing menial jobs or become cab drivers as their qualifications are not recognized... very frustrating and demeaning.
