Well, I would never have dreamed that I would today have accepted an offer to work in RAK. Having only left the UK for the first time last year and before that having never lived outside the North East of England, I am in shock at where I am today! It all feels very surreal at the moment, I just can't believe I'm moving to the Middle East in 10wks time!

RAK
Just came across your Blog. Quick intro... Yorkshireman, been in ME for 9 years, been to most places from Basra to Muscat and all inbetween. In terms of RAK, you'll be fine there. The new developments make life easier for someone new to the region, but you also get the fantastic scenery in that area, and across the border into Mussandam which is Northern Oman (as you will probably be aware). No great shakes coming out here really. For sure, the culture is different but you'll soon wrap your head around that and will get advice from colleagues. Good luck!
