First week of the hols

The girls reports were in at the end of term (they get really indepth reports). Tallulahs was wonderful and a really glowing report so, hopefully, if she keeps it up, she should have her pick of the private schools. Her teacher reckons she'll be a doctor or an architect but, in true Tallulah style, she wants to be a hairdresser !! Nakita's report was also brilliant (bearing in mind the bits she finds difficult) She has made a good group of three friends and they seem to do everything together and fall out regularly
so nothing new there. I have been called in for an interview with the teacher though but that's more about her inability to compromise or back down I think as we have really struggled with her at home with this too. I'm hoping that the Dore programme we're putting her in in October will sort her out before I lose all patience with her.
This week was the first week of the school holidays so the girls and I went to Peel zoo (we hadn't been before). Tallulah is getting a bit old for these things and didn't want to go but when we got there she was off ! They could feed all the animals and she loved holding a carrot for the roos. Nakita loved it too but I think she always will. The zoo was situated near a barn cafe and river by Pinjarra and it was such a gorgeous day we ate lunch outside and vowed to go back with Paul (not the zoo bit he'd rather bite his own arm off!), we were going to go today but we had a visit on Saturday from the pool guy to say that the licence to build our pool was through and they wanted to start Monday. Panic stations !! Paul still had to take a wall down, roof off and the reticulation up so instead of lazing around by the river we worked on the garden instead. In fact Paul made me go on top of the roof to see what view we'd have from a second storey !! Anyway that's all done now and the pool build starts Wednesday. It's not going to be much fun as Mutley will have to be indoors 24/7 and just taken out for toilet breaks, he's only toilet trained now because he's free to come and go as he pleases so I'm not looking forward to it at all, but it will be wonderful when it's over. We have no idea when that will be as, so far, we haven't got enough money for the fencing (so can't fill it), heating, water feature or paving but as the weather gets warmer the pool companies are booked out so at least the hardest part will be done. Fingers crossed it all goes to plan ! I have to say that, if we had the pool working now, we'd probably have been in it these last couple of days ad the weather has been wonderful and next week it's due to get up to 23 degrees. I love it, I'm walking the dog on the beach most days, watching the surfers and body boarders, this is the life.

In between all this I also, in my infinite wisdom, decided to decorate our bedroom. I've just finished painting and Paul is in now fitting the skirting board so that all needs glossing, the doors replacing, new carpet laid etc and that will be one room ticked off. It's all money though - all the lights need replacing, air con needs fitting etc etc etc it's never ending. I think we need to start finishing some of these jobs we've now started !

Next week is the last week of the school hols so I'm visiting friends and trying out a new shopping centre before my enforced containment with Mutley starts. I need some new curtains for our bedroom and the living room ( the Uk ones I brought are all too short !) and you won't believe the 60s rubbish they have here, all dull colours and lacey nets. So far I'm down to ordering from Next and having them sent over !!

Last night we all went to see Christina Aguillera, not that good a concert to be honest. Lots of outfit changes with just films put on whilst she was away, we couldn't understand a word she was saying and you couldn't sing along as she had big gaps in between lines and I don't even think she did a lot of the singing as her backing singers did most of the work. I was expecting more dancing too but she didn't do any, she is supposed to be pregnant so that is probably why but it did leave a bit of lacklustre concert, no where near as good as Pink. We got back to the car and had to wait a while as she was in a car in the same car park so we had to wait for her to leave first too. We got home around midnight so it was a long night. Hopefully it's the last concert this year as the money has run out, so let's hope the rest of the artists I'd pay to see don't come over until next year !

Pool fencing

Over here you're not allowed an empty pool hole without fencing either. If Paul is handy, you can do it yourself - Bunning do the fencing - if that helps.

Oh and if it's 23 degrees outside, no way would you go in a pool - it would be freezing! :)
