Holy cow this year has flown past, I am already starting to think of winter preparations, rushing in some last minute summer repairs, made space for delivery of 2 cord of wood (delivered last weekend). We have emptied the pool and scrubbed it clean. Next week I'll pack it all away and move the snowblower to the front of the shed. I love the winter preparations .

It has been a busy social life recently, our friends have returned from Alberta and we had a BBQ with Guy and Christine. We decided to visit the Fundy National Park for a day out. We had a great time, Wolfe Point was as peaceful as ever

We now follow a family tradition when visiting Fundy National Park. We drive down into the little fishing village of Alma and buy 4 lobsters and then have a lobster picnic in the national park somewhere. This year it was at Bennets Lake, which has great picnic tables overlooking the beautiful lake. Unfortunately the tradition calls for Dad to finance the Lobster Picnic and as the girls have grown up they insist on having a stonking great lobster like Dad has... oh well I will just have to switch to tiddy Lobsters and insist they all follow suit

I volunteered as an MC at the Harvest Jazz and Blues festival (again). It was great fun and this year I was at an indoor stage (people were paying money to see me, well perhaps to see the artists, but me too).  Jules and I walked down Queen Street on Friday evening during a break from the show and it was amazing how many people we know in Fredericton. Lots stopped to talk with us (only one expat the rest were Canadians). It was a nice feeling of being in the community.

The job is going well, demanding but still fun and I am working with some great people.  Jules and both girls make sure there is plenty of work for me at home too.
