-15c hardly any wind, that was it, a snow shoe day was declared.
In the summer, well in the none snow months we often walk around the trails in Mactaquac Provincial Park and one of our more favourite ones is the Beaver Trail. I am amazed at how few people you see on these trails. But to put it in perspective there over 70kms of trails in and on the edge the Fredericton. There are over 7000km of snow mobile trails in New Brunswick and 25km in Mactaquac Park. All those trails and only a small population means you can be out all day and perhaps only meet one other couple /family on the trail. Consequently when you meet there is often a pause and a conversation for about 5 minutes before waving good bye and continuing.
.
We have a couple of wintery photos with the snow shoe expeditionaries on the gentle stroll.

.Julie and I around the Beaver Trail. Nice back lighting and my face is now looking more normal but smiling is still problematic.

Gemma took some video as well. Click on this to view it The open spaces are the lake / Beaver pond.
The pub night went well with a pretty good turnout and Paul came all the way from from Gagetown (Paul is 'chinnybloke' on British Expats Forum). We made it home around 11:35pm. Today is a lazy day, roast chicken for Sunday Dinner with some bread sauce sent in our red cross parcel from UK.
Fredericton City have opened their free skating rinks, basically they spray water on some squares / tennis courts and let them free and hey presto everyone has access to ice rinks. Here is the webcam looking over the offices square rink. Maybe I can convince the girls to go this afternoon, so keep watching and you may see me waving at you |
