Everyone is down with coughs and sniffles. Except me my Bells Palsy is improving and I am looking younger by the day. If I keep this up I will be a teenager by August.

The rain has arrived, well just a couple of millimetres of it, enought to wash the snow off the roads and make driving easier. It has also flattened the snow banks a little too. But by the weekend we will be back to sub zero and all that wet snow will freeze up like concrete I must clear off the drive before the freeze returns otherwise we will have a down hill skating rink.

Post Christmas social slackers that we are, we have decided to entertain ourselves for the next few weeks. The Whelbourn family has a several traits which are lethal when locked into a board game.
- Games of knowledge testing are interesting because we are always right (well the others think they are right and I know I am right)
- We like to win.... Risk is not a game that is allowed without strict UN peacekeeping rules. It has been known to see Risk Board fly across a table when Dad does the dirty and kills off one of the weaker players to get their cards so he can take over the world MMMMUUUUHAHAHAHAHAAHA (laugh of mad world ruler)
- Monopoly is banned as no one can take being evicted and thrown penniless onto the street,
One game we seem to be able to play without resorting to violence or name calling is a board game called Sequence. We are competetive and luckily because of the element of luck and chance you are less likely to win by being mean. Especially when playing with 3 or more players. One problem with family addiction of the game, is that we are becoming Sequence experts, and we have reached a point were games are being drawn. No winners!.. HOW ON EARTH WILL WE COPE WITH THAT??
.
Finally I want to give an honourable mention to Julie's Mum and Dad for sending us the series "Life on Mars" on DVD's at Christmas. Great show and very original, if you havent seen it get a copy of the series.
We are rationing ourselves to two episodes a week to make the two series last. Hacking our DVD Player so it is multi regional was one of Kathryn's better ideas. Friends and relatives can send us DVD's as pressies! |
