We've just put the girls to bed. Becca's been asleep 10 minutes already and Ellie's almost there. Not bad for 7.40pm on Xmas Eve with the sun streaming in their windows lol.
They've left a carrot and 2 homemade gingerbreadmen and a large glass of whiskey out for Santa with strict instructinos on who's stocking is whos. I have no idea what time we can expect them up in the morning, but I don't imagine we'll be getting anything resembling a long lie.
Doe it feel like Christmas - honestly, it still feels odd and not real. I have a real sadness at not being with my Mum and Dad and brother and sister and the kids, and also Mike's family. I guess it's true what they say that you don't realise what you've got til it's gone! Thankfully, we'll be back in the UK for next Christmas, so we can go to town and really enjoy it. I love living here, but not at this time of year.
We've had some lovely cards and emails and messages from friends and family back in the UK. Thank you so much, it's lovely to hear little slices of "normal".
We wish you all a fantastic happy and safe Christmas. no doubt, there'll be lots of new photos to upload once Santa's been so watch this space.
