Spent the day with more unpacking an organising of the house. Nothing very interesting happened except we got a call from the landlord of the house we'd been renting in Bayswater. It seems there had been a limit on the use of the internet there and we'd exceeded it. I think he was a tad worried about the bill as the charge was 20c per meg. The bill came to $1300!!!!!! Don't get me wrongm it was lovely talking to you all on the webcam, but not at that cost hehe. Only joking! We had also downloaded a lot of UK TV shows so it wasn't all web chats. Anyway, the landlord called back the next day and told us he'd called his service provider and explained that were were unfamiliar with the set up and they agreed to reduce the bill to £130 PHEW.
Thankfully, the broadband account we've set up here has a much bigger limit and rather than letting us continue to run up a bill, it'll throttle our bandwidth if we exceed it so it'll be really slow until the next month when the limit is reset. I think you'll agree the UK set up is much better. We're paying double here for 12Gb per month than for unlimited use in the UK.
