Sorry for not keeping the blog up to speed this week, we've moved house and had no internet access for a while. We're all re-connected again now so here's what you've missed........
We had to get up at 5.30 this morning as we needed to be in Caroline Springs for our container arriving at 8am. We got here around 10 to so just made it. The container arrived just after us and the first thing they unloaded was the kids bikes, followed quickly by their toys. Despite being up to our armpits in boxes, we couldn't ignore the fact that the girls were deliriously happy to have their toys back. They kept running to us cuddling various teddys and toys. Becca couldn't even believe she had so much stuff as she'd forgotten most of it. For Ellie, the highlight of the day was getting her huge gorilla that James and Donna gave her when she was born (it's the same size as her) and her make up bag. For Becca, it was her big Tigger and Dora duvet set. We literally hardly saw the girls all day, they were so busy pulling all their toys out, it was really funny and very heartwarming to see them so happy.
With the kids happily occupied, we were able to unpack quickly and by the time the removal guys were gone (called removalists here) we had hardly any boxes left to empty. The place was a tip though, with flat packed furniture EVERYWHERE!!!
We have a few breakages but nothing important has been broken. We'll need to make a claim on our marine insurance to cover the damage. A few of the bits broken were small like dishes, but they've also damaged both the sets of drawers from our room, scratched one of the bedside tables and also the TV appears to have suffered with the colour having gone weird. Thankfully, it's all covered due to the horrifically expensive, compulsory marine insurance.
Talking of insurance, we've had to get ambulance insurance. Here, the ambulances are private and if you don't have cover the bill for a single journey can be thousands of dollars!!!! The cover was only $120 for the year so well worth it.
