Gill and both woke feeling crap this morning. Her tonsilliis and my sore throat are keeping us up at night, which makes for a really happy home first thing in the morning - NOT!
Anyway, we had a few more admin tasks to clear off the list today. Gill's bank card needed to be reset to link to the correct account so we hit the bank first. Then on to register for health cover (Medicare). There are forms for everything here and they all require you to prove your ID with your passport, bank statement, mothers birth certificate etc etc. You would have thought that the Visa application checks would have been enough to allow them to rely on the passport, but no.
So we are now officially registered to use the health system and claim back some of the $50 Gill paid to see a doctor about her throat. I'm gargling like never before to avoid another bill!!!
With health support in place, we headed to the food court, before taking the kids to the nearest soft play to burn off some of the energy they've been forced to store up over the past few days. They had a great time.
We'll be collecting the cats from quarantine on Sunday, so we let the kids choose a new cat basket, litter tray etc for them. They're dead excited about the cats coming out, as is Gill. I'm just glad they survived the journey. No really I am.
The last thing on the list today was to change our UK driving licenses into Victorian ones. We proved our ID (again) ,filled in their forms, answered their questions, paid their fees and let them take our pictures. Cards presented on the spot. So we are now proud owners of Victorian State driving licenses!!
