We bought a car today :-))) We decided that although we liked the Captiva, it was pricey, so we did the sensible thing for once and went for the 2WD Tuscon which looks like a 4WD. The price was $29,990 plus on road costs of around $4000 and we got a deal where the on road costs were included as well as free bonnet and light protctors and tinted windows so we're pretty pleased with that. We should get it next week some time. http://www.hyundai.com.au/swf/default.aspx?vehicle=tucson
As we left, Ellie asked if we could have lunch in KFC so we agreed. At that time Becca asked for an apple. Breakthrough!! This was the first food she'd asked for in days. We parked near a shopping centre in Ferntree Gully and Mike took the girls into KFC while I popped over to Aldi for some apples for Becca. When I got back, she was tucking into Popcorn chicken :-) She didn't eat all of it, but she did well and then ate her apple so it was fantastic to see her eating again.
We had an exciting drive this afternoon. We decided that we'd check out some of the South Eastern suburbs so we headed down towards Berwick then through NArre Warren up through Dandenong and back towards home via Vermont South (the home of neighbours).
We both really didn't want to like Berwick as it's a bit too far out but as we approached it the contryside was beautiful. Rolling hills, lakes, trees and the Dandenong ranges on the way, then, we arrived in Berwick and we both had HUGE smiles. It was beautiful. The centre is old and has a lovely village feel, a real community. We had a drive around and then found a show home village. As we entered the first house I could hardly speak, I've honestly NEVER seen a house like it. Stunning. We've looked at that particular company's house floor plans online before but I wasn't prepared for how amazing they actually are in real life. Even the girls were excited. Check this out for an example (http://www.metricon.com.au/vic/homes/overview.aspx?id=67). I can't wait to take my Mum down there in January to she them to her.
Anyway, as I said we drove threw loads of other suburbs but none really felt the same as Berwick, but one good thing is that we've crossed quite a few off the list.
