Well we all slept nearly 12 hours last night. Ellie was up briefly at midnight but other than that we all slept really well. Becca though woke up saying she felt sick, which throughout the day changed to a sore throat, sore head and a sore tummy. She hasn't eaten all day (except a yogurt) and was actually sick at 5pm. I think she's just suffering with jetlag poor thing. I remember getting similar symptoms with jetlag myself in the past so we're not too worried about her.
As you might know, we bought a TomTom satellite navigation system before we came here and we used it this morning to find the bank so we could do a 100 point ID check which is required before we can use our bank account. After lunch though, it didn't work, was dead as a dead thing so we had to navigate to a supermarket and car salesrooms the old fashioned way - by map!! It was actually fun. We managed to find everything we needed wth only a few wrong turns so not too bad.
The supermarket we found was nice and quiet so we had plenty of time to work out what was what. Becca was exstatic to find Wiggles yoghurts and Wiggles Weetabix and Ellie loved all the melons. We had quite a laugh tying to work out which brands were good or not, at one point, Mike spent about 5 minutes trying to decide which orange juice to choose! It seems Aussies are very keen on fruit juice as the bottles are all around 2 litres and there's a massive choice.
Shopping done, we went to a few car dealers and tried out a few SUVs. We think we've found one we like (Holden Captiva) but we'll need to check it out to see if the spec/price fits.
We made out first home cooked meal in ages tonight. Spag bol at Ellie's request. It was so lovely to do something normal. We've also caugth up with the washing and calls home so tonight's feeling a lot more "normal".
Tomorrow we're going to the city as Mike's got an informal interview and we need to collect our bank cards from the city branch, then I'm being collected at 6.30 for my night out with the gang from the expats site.
