The Final Countdown

We are home for a day after a mega late night out with friends last night.  We were out in Glasgow with Mike, Izy, Paul, Phil, Emma, Martin, Mal and Ally.  We had a fab meal in the West End followed by a few drinks in the pub then back to Mike and Izy's.  Lots more hard goodbyes at some unearthly hour in the morning.  This crowd are VERY special friends and we'll miss them loads.  Thanks for a great night guys...we promise not to sent too many spawny emails about the weather lol.

After collecting the kids from my Mum and Dad's we popped over to the Airport to check the hand luggage sizes and then decided to make a stab at the packing.  So far, I've personally managed to fill 2 large suitcases!!!!!!  Thank goodness Mike has less clothes than me  .

Ellie finally discovered the cats aren't here tonight and was distraught but we explained that they're already in Melbourne and she seemed OK with that.  She was worried about them not being loked after which is so sweet but I think we managed to convince her it's OK and she reconciled it like this......"it'll be like when a kid asks for a kitten for Xmas and gets it, except we wil get Lucy and Jack back".  God, she's so sweet.

Saying goodbye to my Gran on Thursday was absolutely horrible, she was so upset that she might not see us again.  God, how awful I felt doing that to her.

On a positive note, I got to the Next & Monsoon sales this weekend for some retail therapy and had a fab time.  As well as a few bits and pieces for myself, I also bought a stack of clothes for the kids which my parents and Mikes parents are going to send over for their Xmas pressies.  Mike even got a few new bits and pieces to we're all happy.

Talking of Xmas, I also got all my nieces and nephews Xmas presents in the sales on Friday and will leave them with my Mum so that this year I don't have to send too much over.

So, we're into out final week in the UK and I have no idea whether I'm terrified or excited but there's def something playing havoc with my stomach and my sleep lol.

Lots of love and luck to you
We'll be here, thinking about you. Everything will be great - you're a smashing family that any Australian would be proud to make friends with.
Look forward to hearing about stuff when you get over to Melbourne.
