All Change

Mike finished work last Friday and it already feels like a lifetime ago.  We went on to spend the weekend with Mike's family.  Both his brothers, his sil and a niece all stayed over with his folks on Saturday night.  Talk about a full house.  The atmosphere was a little tense but OK.  On the Sunday, Mike and I were leaving for the night to go home and take the cats to the pet shippers the following day.  Mike will see his brothers on Sunday for a goodbye drink but it was the final goodbye for me.  Just as we were about t ogo, Ellie fell over and cut her knee and got into an awful state screaming at me not to leave her.  It was awful.  We were trying to make an escape and all along Mike's Mum was dithering about trying to get us to hang about!!!  GGrrrrrr.

Anyway, once home, Mike and I went to see Harry Potter which was great and a very welcome distraction from the deed to be done the following day!

Those cats are clever things, they def have a 6th sense.  We hadn't even let them see THE BOX but when we called out "Lucy, Jack...tuna's out" they scarpered.  That was despite us giving them tuna the night before too and them appearing from nowhere in  a split second!  They cried all the way to the pet shippers' vet which was horrible.  We didn't hang about and Mike did a good job distracting me by blethering nonsense so I wouldn't cry too much.

Back up to Mike's parents for another couple of days after that but by the time we got home yesterday we were stressed to the MAX!!!!!  Too much to be done and we were sitting about trying to be nice and not say the "A" word (Australia) and the kids were bored rigid so not a good combination.

We did a power of organising once we got home yesterday.  Finished the tax forms, updated a few to do lists and got the clothes all organised for the next few days staying at my Mum's.  The girls went over to Cheryl's for an hour of fun which was fab, they really needed it.  Ellie's really going to miss Ben (her 2nd boyfriend but def the one for her lol).  I did well saying goodbye to Cheryl, Ailey, Ben and Isobel and Niamh and Eilidh who were there too, not too many tears.  I think they've all dried up!!!

Why is it you don't realise what good friends you've got til you're saying goodbye?

We're here at Mum and Dad's today saying goodbye to my Granny, and tomorrow, the girls are staying over as Mike and I have a night out with the Glasgow crowd and we're staying with Mike and Izy.

On the cat front, we called the shippers last night and they said the cats are fine and on their way.  Even though, I was still worried but less so today after talking to my Granny......she told me that she'd mentioned to my uncle that the cats were going yesterday and he said that my cousin had actually put them on their plane.  He's a baggage handler at Edin Airport and had mentioed to his Dad last night that he'd loaded up 2 white cats, 2 white rabbits and a rat that day.  Small world eh!!!!!

So, safe flight Lucy and Jack, you'll be in Oz tomorrow and we'll call at the weekend.  Love you both xox
