The meeting of the clans, AKA my family and Mike's getting together for the afternoon, went fairly well.  Everyone seemed to have a good time, Mum and Dad were perfect hosts as usual and the weather stated dry enough for us to eat outside (thank goodness for patio heaters).

There was a bit of a frosty atmosphere between Mike's brother Adrian and his wife Catriona, not sure what was going on there, but I know Mike's Mum is worried about them but won't say why!!!!  Here's hoping its something and nothing.

Funny things families.  Ours haven't really spent much time together other than family do's like birtdays and weddings so don't really know each other to well.  Everyone was trying to impress each other, really funny to watch.  Got to say, I was really glad when everyone finally went, even though the afternoon was good, there was just "something" that didn't quite gel.  I guess ours are 2 families which under other  circumstances would never had met, or been friends.  I personally prefer to keep them seperate, but my Mum felt the need to have them all over.  Not that they need to be kept seperate, they're just different that's all.

When everyone went home and the kid were in bed, we got Dad's laptop out and spent a fair while showing them some houses in the areas of Melbourne we're looking at which was nice.  It's a shame we can't do this with Mike's folks, I know he'd love to share it with them.
