The shippers have been here the past 2 days and all our furniture etc is now safely stored somewhere in 3 big crates awaiting shipping to Melbourne. The guys from Doree Bonner were great. Quick, quiet, efficient and courtious. One ornament was broken (that we know off) but it wa on day one so I popped out to Samuels and replaced it same day so the new one could be packed up. It was only one of those cheap Willow Tree thingys but it had special meanings for us so was worth doing.
The weirdest bit of the whole process was seeing Carragher - Melbourne written on the boxes. When I first saw that my heart skipped a beat.
As you know, we spent the past weeks flat packing our furniture as we were told we would not fit it all in other wise and all that effort has paid off. We were about 90% full at the end of day 2 (phew).

After the shippers left we got the place cleaned up and took a few final photos of the house. It was a dull dreary day ecxcept for the few moments when I was photgraphing the lounge. The sun shone in through the patio doors and it looked amazing.

That night, we met Rachel and Ian, our buyers, to show them how to use the alarm etc. and when we locked up that night when they were leaving, that was the last time we were in it. I had been doing OK, but my throat clamped up on me as I took my final glance at the kitchen. Had a few tears, but honestly, not as much as I expected.
Handed in the keys to the estate agent the following morning and that was it. The house was sold! We only put the for sale sign up 7 weeks ago!!!!!!!!!!!!
