Medicals Done - phew

Well, we've done it, we've had our medicals for immigration to Australia.  The first bit was chest xrays for Mike and I and we had those at the Nuffield Hospital in Glasgow on Tuesday evening.  Then, this morning, all four of us went to Bonnyrigg for our medicals with Dr Smart.  We had to leave at 7.30 this morning to get there, but it was worth it.

Mike and I both had blood tests (for HIV), blood pressure checks, urine, reflexes, ears, eyes, height, weight, heart and lungs checked.  Thankfully, all was clear.  The girls had to only have ears, height, weight, reflexes and for Ellie a pee sample.  Rebecca wasn't too impressed by any of it and screamed through it.  I was convinced that in dealing with that my blood pressure would be sky high, but miraculously it was perfect.

As we left, Dr Smart shook our hands and told us all was OK and wished us a very happy life in Australia so we left with MEGA smiles on our faces.

We have the PCC forms now and we'll get those posted off on Monday.  After that, it's all out of our hands and over to the nice folks at DIMA.

Mum and Dad are off to Thailand tomorrow leaving us to brave the horrendous storms.  God I wish I was going with them.  It's so dark and cold here, if it wasn't our last winter here, I'd be bitterly depressed right now.  Thankfully, with visas imminent (by that I mean May ish time) we're all smiles and I'm even going to break my diet and have a few glasses of red wine tonight to celebrate the medicals being done
