25th and 26th August
Saturday

We got the keys to the rental today.  We had to wait a while to get in as the owners were having fly screens and a security door installed but eventually got in around 11.  The garden still hasn't been done but the real estate informs us the front will be pebbled very soon but that nothing will be done to the back yard.  This is a right royal pain as it's just weeds and we're not too keen to spend money on doing it up when it's not our own.  We'll certianly have to do something as we can't leave it like that but we won't be turfing it with the water restrictions in place here.  At least there's a small conrete area for a BBQ and a patio set so we won't be completely stuck.

After a quick lunch, I left Mike and the girls to do a little unpacking and went up to the nearest mall to buy cleaning products etc and when I got back I got stuck into cleaning while Mike built the new beds which had just been delivered.

Sunday

Margaret invited us round today so Mike dropped the girls and I off at her house and then took a car load of cases over to Caroline Springs.  While Mike was away, we had a catch up with Margaret and took the girls to the park.  When Mike got back, Margaret and Hugh said they'd look after the girls for us while we went to order the new sofas and TV unit which was really kind of them.  It meant we got to run around Ikea collecting the various bits we needed with no hassle and the kids were happy to stay and play with Margaret's wee girl Lorna.
