Going to be a Busy Weekend

This weekend is the big one for the Carraghers.  It's our 6th wedding anniversary AND Ellie's 5th birthday on Saturday so there's some clebrating to be done

Starting it off with a trip to the hairdressers for a little pampering.  Then on Friday, will drive the kids to my in laws for the night and then head back to Glasgow to meet Mike as we're going to see the Australian Pink Floyd.  We then get to have a lie in on Saturday (will probably end up cleaning more bikes though) and then when Jim and Moira bring the kids back, we're off to Glasgow to see The Bratz Live show !!!!!!!!

Sunday morning is Ellie's party at The Ceramic Experience and then out for lunch with my parents.

Looking forward to it all.

Can't even Remember What I've Been Doing !!

It's been a while since I updated this blog so bear with me if I prattle on or repeat myself.

We are living under huge amounts of pressure right now.  Poor Mike is woking his ass off at work due to the implementation of a major project, AND his boss has just left so he's now acting up as well.  For a few weeks there he wasn't even seeing the girls as he was home after they went to bed andgone before they got up in the morning.  Plus there was weekend working and a weekend away with the boys in Amsterdam (OK, strictly, not stressful - for him at least!).

Had Doree Bonner round again a few weeks ago and despite chucking out tonnes of "stuff" we are still dangerously close to being over the capacity for a 20ft container.  The result of this is that we need to flat pack any furniture which we can and the thought of this is stressing me out no end.  And all for the pricely sum of £4700!!!!

The cat shippers are booked and hopefully they have everything in hand.  Must call them to check actually.  We've also set up a mail redirect, which can only mean one thing - moving!

Not sure how I feel about moving right now.  A bit of me just wants to move and be done with it, and on the other hand, I know there's no way I could settle down the road in the rental knowing my lovely home is just 5 minutes away beckoning me.  We've said we'll move officially next weekend unless the flat packing makes the house unsafe for the girls.

We also need to move all our important files off the PC and onto the laptop (let's hear it for a wireless home network).  I know the chances of our ship sinking are slim, but I'd be distraught if we lost all the kids' baby photos and videos!

And finally, the major garage clean up has begun and Mike and his brother Steve started disinfecting all the bikes, tent etc.  It's about 90% done now, and Mike's other brother Adrian has been round and taken heaps of tools etc that we're not shipping.

On the home front, I've been busy working out what we need for the move to the rental and also final clearing out before the shippers arrive.  Have spent a fair bit of time down the rental cleaning and preparing it.  And that's a story in itself-  had to spend 2 hours cleaning the washing machine.  It was absolutely disgusting!!!!  Margaret has suggested finishing it off with a bottle of Milton before we put any clothes into it so I'm going to do that tomorrow.   Have cleaned the toliets thoroughly but would like to di them again before we move in too.

The good news is that we've booked a wee trip with the kids to Disneyland Paris for the week following the house sale.  I think we'll need a bit of r & r by then.

Had lunch with Margaret last weekend as she's off to Melbourne in 2 weeks.  God i'm jealous.  I wish we were going now and not in 17.5 weeks (yes, I'm that sad that I am counting).  Good luck Margaret and family, see you in August on the sunny side lol.

Before I go, I must tell you what happened to day - the postman delivered redirected mail for the new owners of the house!!!  They don't even move in until the 13th Apil!! Cheeky sods.  It has left me feeling VERY strange indeed - it's OUR house, sod off til it's your.
