Flights Booked

We have booked our flights to Australia.  It was waaayyy too easy.  My Mum and Dad had the kids on Friday night so on Saturday morning had taken them for a long walk which meant Rebecca was knackered by the time we got on the bus into Edinburgh at 2pm.  When we got off the bus, we had a 20 minute walk to the travel agent and within about 5 minutes, Becca was out cold in the buggy and Ellie was happily perched on her Daddy's shoulders.  Poor Mike on the other hand, was nursing a sore back, and Ellie's not exactly light, so he was less than happy.

Anyway, we got to Austravel, George Street and were seated with Felicity who was a lovely kiwi girl.  Becca stayed alseep the whole hour we were in there, and Ellie played well enough with her Leapster and spent lots of time waving at the miserable shoppers wandering past the shop - only one waved back at her - miserable gits!!

Anyway, we had looked at flights online but just couldn't make up our minds about what to do so explained all this to Felicity.  She promptly said, she'd recommend Singapore Airlines with small kids.  We knew this was a good recommendation as we've seen it mentioned many many times on BE.

Very quickly, we had decided on a flight from Edinburgh to Melbourne departing on 28th July 2007.  We fly to London mid afternoon and have an evening flight to Singapore.  We then stay there in a lovely 4* hotel (The Orchard) for 2 nights and then another night flight to MElbourne, arriving at around 5.30 on the 1st August.

How easy was that?????

The family who are buying our house were round yesterday for a second viewing.  We let them wander around on their own and then Mike took Ian around telling him all the blokey stuff like where the fuse box etc are.  When they were about done I asked them if the house was the way they remembered it and they both said "better and bigger" which is nice.  I got all glassy eyed talking to them though.  It's going to be hard saying goodbye to this house, we have loved living here.  But, it's time to move.

Talking of which. the landlord of our potential rental is coming over tonight to get the lease signed.  That'll be another box ticked and we can start moving the bits and pieces down there that we're not moving to Australia with us.
