Will the last Englishman out of the country turn the lights out please ?

Tobys injury

So, I started work today. Top notch. Everything you could ever want for breakfast, all laid out for you. Each floor has a luxury kitchen, with sandwich makers, toasters etc etc. All the fresh bread is laid on each day, muffins, flapjacks, pancakes, peanut butter, jam, etc etc, all FREE. 10 different types of coffee, tea, diet coke, mineral water, bitter lemon, fanta, whatever you want. But get this, beer in the fridge also. Friday afternoons have a whole new meaning.  The fridge is always well stocked, and if you work past 5pm, they lay out biscuits and cakes and things.

Great people to work with too, as first days go it was a winner. Got a load of work already, I will be earning my money that is for sure. Lovely to walk to work in the sunshine tho, in such a beautiful city. It really is different class. K and I were talking about it on the train home, you actually dont mind going to work here. Surreal !

The euphoria of the day was only broken earlier by a text from K. Toby was injured today. Leelu fell on him, and he could not walk without crying after. Apparently K was going to resign today, as she felt so bad leaving him. Poor little love. By the time I met her for the evening train, she had regained some composure, but was itching to get home to check the patient. The result ? We walk in, there is a 10lb bundle of ginger and white fur jumping 4 foot in the air up at the door. That must be 1 sore leg ! Admittedly, he had a slight limp when walking, but a 20 minute run round the oval with the local whippet run that off, and he is as good as gold now.

BBQ at the weekend, all our friends are coming over. Should be a good laugh. I am only drinking vodka in half pints though this weekend, the hangover from pints is just too severe.
