Will the last Englishman out of the country turn the lights out please ?

New Year, New Country, New Life

We are having our first little soiree tomorrow night. Our Aussie mates Shay and Rhys are coming over to stay. Last time we had them stay was at our house in England 3 months ago, and we were talking about it then saying we could not wait, and now here we are.

We are really enjoying our new lives. K and I walked the dogs with the sun on our faces at 07:00 this morning, and on our backs at 19:00 this evening. Not seen a cloud all day. On our walks we have uncovered a few little house finds, and there is 1 we are quite interested in. It looks vacant, is a bit run down, but could be lovely. It is CHEAP, a few hundred thousand dollars under what it should be in this area. It just needs some vision, and could be a fantastic investment. Bloody estate agents are all still off on holiday, but they will be back Monday, and we will be looking to get in for a good look round.

We seem to have pretty much decided we are staying in this area, or a few miles down the road is also nice. The trains to the city are great, and it's far enough away to be tranquil, while close enough to the city so to only have less than an hours commute.

The next thing on the agenda is jobs. We need to start looking soon, and once we have those sorted, our lives will really start to take off. Having done the trip in a few times already, and spent a lot of time in the CBD, I really cant wait.

San and Jim are off travelling at the moment. Been a bit of a disaster by all accounts so far. They could not find accomodation last night, so ended up booking into a bit of a seedy B&B. Only to find a lovely hotel with vacancies 2 mins further up the highway when they got back on it this morning. Lunch today was apparently worse, then they get to Port Macquirie and it pours down. Think they are staying in Coffs Harbour tonight, and seeing if they make Brissie tomorrow.

The harbour bridgeclimb has been booked, and we are going to take Jim and San to Doyles in Watsons Bay, or Dobsons Bay as Sandra calls it. Dont ask why.
