Come on down!Posted on Mon 19 March 2007 at 10:46Just by way of a change: Maestro, roll of the drums…………. I would like to invite a member of the audience to come and share a few minutes with us. Now, who is in the lucky seat? Maestro, another roll of the drums………….(yes, you do get paid extra for two drum rolls….) So tonight, by popular demand and to great acclaim…………... Maestro, would a trumpet fanfare be forthcoming? What? THANK-YOU! So, with no more ado, let me introduce tonight’s special guest: Come on down Mr Alan Brown!!! You have been picked as the lucky, lucky winner of a whirlwind tour of our lives. I see you Jean, flicking him with the hanky to make sure he is presentable - he’s fine! So Alan, come in
Ohh, the garden's not very tidy - just give me a wee hand here please.
Thank you very much. Now, mind the steps, there you go. I can’t find the bottle opener so if you just come out onto the deck, we can use the one Granny gave me for my birthday – he’s a beauty eh?
The view – it’s not so bad, you could get used to this I bet?!
What’s that Alan? – no, we haven’t got round to using the greenhouse this summer, but maybe next year.
We haven’t really done much except tidy the garden. Tracy from work gave me some trees today so I will plant them down the left side of the garden as it is a bit bare and see how it goes. Unfortunately, she left them in her car all day and the sun may have been too much for them. I have watered them well and left them under the house tonight. Jean needs you back for tea already? Och well, tell you what, you will just have to come again another day and we will have a right look round inside OK? Bye Alan, see you soon……… Ladies and Gentlemen, say goodbye to Alan and a big round of applause!! ----------------------------------------------------------------- This is the first time I have managed to add photos all on my own! The garden looks a lot better now and the greenhouse is clean but I had the idea and couldn't wait until Steve took some more. As you may guess, I don't have any decent inside photos! Right, a day of tidying and take some more tomorrow afternoon! ----------------------------------------------------------------- My sister Shona mentioned she had passed on the blog details to her father-in-law, who regularly logs on to find out how we are doing... Mr Brown Senior - welcome to our lives! It is really nice to know that you tune in to the rants, comments and musings that I choose to write here. If anything I have said offends you - it's a bit late now to worry about it eh?!! Thank you for your interest and I hope I don't bore you too much. Life here is wonderful: I probably don't manage to convey the sheer fulfilment that we gain from our daily lives but as long as I don't wear you down to the extent you give up tuning in, I am very glad you choose to read. And, Lisa! Thank you for the same! Nice to know that people choose to become part of our daily lives by reading this. I am so very touched. (aye, that's been said before!) Again, my most sincere "THANK YOU" |
