procrastination

Today, I would like to hold forth on the art form that is procrastination......

It is indeed a fine art  and I believe I have a certain finesse in this area.  There are the things that can be  put off until next year.  Things that can run along nicely without my input until next month. Then, the things that can be left until next week.  Ooh, that could be left until tommorrow and that can be done later.  But there comes a time that is the point of no return.  It has to be done and it has to be done NOW.

Our redirection of mail runs out soon and I have been promising myself that I would write/email to various people and professional bodies.  I have been promising myself for at least 10 days.  But, as it doesn't run out until the 21st of this month, procrastination was called for.

What a busy day I have had!  Up with Melissa when she went to school and then a brisk lie down.  MORE tattie soup to be made.......Oh dammit, the neep is woody and I only have half an onion - what's a girl to do........OK, off down the supermarket and while I'm out, return the overdue library book and pick up the next one in the series.......Right, finish the soup.....good use of time - go swimming and leave the soup on low.....the washing got caught in the rain yesterday, so in it comes for another wash and back out again...., and while I'm in the garden, what a bloody mess.  The wind was really strong last night and has stripped loads of long leafy fronds out of the cabbage trees.  best get them picked up.........and as I am in gardening mode, best go round the front.......what a mess, leaves everywhere - I could really do with a big bag to gather everything up in and then chuck over the back fence into the gully...........Ahh, I could make a big bag out of that green canvas stuffie that the brush matting came in.   OK, sewing machine out, green bag made - that should deal with the garden rubbish!  Ooh, seeing as the machine is out anyway, I was going to  do something with the matress topper and electric blanket as they are double size and don't fit the queen sized bed.  Right, if I cut that and add that and use that.... mmph....there we go...... (just in case you think I am dumber than I actually am, I didn't cut the electric blanket, just added more material all the way round!)...what a bloody mess of threads, best get the hoover out.....good grief, is that the time - best start tea...

Now, when was I meant to find time to deal with change of address with all that going on?!  Ah, well, maybe tomorrow!

Gracious, I appear to have done it again eh?  Well, I haven't blogged for ages (!), so I HAD to keep in touch!

The only problem I have now is there is nothing I need to do tomorrow, so I will have to either think really hard to find another excuse, or actually do the dirty deed.....It is not a huge job, but once you start putting things off, they become insurmountable.  I think when I was a student nurse, visitors could probably tell from the state of my house if I had an essay in the offing:  tidy - essay looming; untidy - nothing on the horizon.

What's that on the glass of the shower?  Sounds like a job for the Princess of Procrastination!!
