Just a very brief entry.

Today I had one of those "we live here" moments"

It is my second day off, the house is clean and tidy, this evening's tea is already cooked (pasta salad) and in the fridge.  I have gone to the swimming pool on the way home from cycling to school with the girls and done another 60 lengths.  The sun is shining. The cicadas are a subdued roar in the background.  The kittens are gambolling about the garden without a care in the world.  I start my new shift pattern tomorrow which pleases me immensely.  I had absolutely nothing that needed to be done and nothing to worry about either.

I was lying in the hammock under thre trees, watching the kittens play and realised life simply couldn't be sweeter (unless of course Britain drifted closer to NZ and I could pop back to visit for the afternoon).  I lay there and thought about it with the biggest grin spread over my chubby chops.  You will know yourself that now and again, everything in your world, your little bubble of reality, is just so spot on it brings a lump to your throat when you take stock and realise it.  I think that most of the time we are so busy chasing the dream of the perfect life that we don't appreciate what we have right in front of us.  So this morning was special in that I truly do appreciate the life we live.  It validates the choice we have made in transplanting ourselves halfway round the world to start a different reality.  We were happy in Britain - for me the move was to experience something new, so being happy in itself isn't unusual - I just wanted to share it with you and hope that some of it rubs off on you as well.

Really enjoyed the entry!

I really enjoyed reading your reflective comments on your new life. It was very inspiring, and I hope to find myself experiencing the same soon. Good luck to you!! And enjoy!
