We're finally on top of geting the house sorted, I've unpacked stuff and fitted hooks to doors, Karen's done the hard stuff of cleaning as much as she can! As I write this I have consumed a vast amount of alcohol and we have phoned home to people including my mum, her mum, her mates, my mate (note the SINGULAR there). Basically telling everyone, and by way of this blog all those we didn't call, how wonderful life is at the moment. Sat out on the deck of our house (that the National Bank of NZ currently own!!) tonight and heard a rustling in the bushes. Saw a sillhouette that was far too small to be a possum so naturally had to be a fu***ng RAT!! Rushed in to get the maglite (oh yes, only the best of torches for us) and illuminated a.....Hedgehog!! Melissa went in for a closer (Steve Irwin stiley) look...'Oh how cute' type remarks abounded! Our life is good, we couldn't ask for more. We are living the dream we dreamt...it can't get better than sitting on a deck at 1030pm in 20 degree C weather listening to the Chilli Peppers and Metallica and not having a care in the world. It's a bed of roses (come on, tell me it isn't...I dare you) and it's one which I hope doesn't wilt too soon. I wrote this. me, StevieB. I need to say that cos my appearance on this blog is about as regular as a bloke whose sole food intake is Special K!!
