| Had an email from the removal company. The guy apologised for his behaviour earlier and said he would still move our furniture. He'd been having a bad day and felt sorry for the way he'd spoken to me. I replied straight away, worried that as my response wouldn't be read until morning, he might have assumed we didn't want the offer. I said that his email was met with a lot of gratitude as it looked like we'd be doing the moving ourselves with two young children and it wouldn't be a pleasant experience. He replied again (so obviously working late), and confirmed that we were on and he would be happy to take a 50% deposit and the rest on delivery. Of course, its a little anxious, knowing this guy isn't too professional with all our worldly goods! But it means so much that he actually had the balls to apologise. Its a HUGE relief, I can't even express. There aren't many people in this world that will admit to firing off with no reason. I've got to admire his honesty and his ability to reflect on the situation objectively. It means that we can all just focus on the one move to the motel and actually enjoy Pip's birthday without a dreadful journey back to Auckland to pack and drive down again. We tried to relax over a bottle of red and some choccies, but we're both too drained and sick to the stomach so we're sloping off to bed where no doubt we'll spend most of the night stressing about tomorrow! Blimey, just when you're feeling down on the luck side, something comes through. Its just the boost we needed. |
