The ups and downs of our planned new life to NZ, warts and all!

Back to courtMon 8 October 2007
The real estate agency have retracted on the agreement twice now.  I spoke to the owner of the branch and he said he would tell the rental department to resolve it once and for all on Monday.  Its now Tuesday AM and still no resolution.  The court date was booked ages ago as a 'backup' advised by the dept of building and housing.  I telephoned Janeane who said she didn't receive the faxes from the dept of building and housing and was going to cancel the court appointment until she received them!  I said, no.  No way.  You've taken far too long to sort this out, we'll be seeking full compensation.  She was so flippant in her response, either she wanted to create an impression of not giving a damn OR she really doesn't give a damn.  The tenancy advisory service advised that her 'playing for time' behaviour will reflect badly on her.  At least we'll get it solved 100% tomorrow.  I feel sick at the thought of it.  We put in so much preperation last time, and its all in storage.  We'll have to start from scratch.  I know its not the end of the world and its not like we've done anything wrong, but I feel so drained from it all.  We are moving out of this place on the 11th to a motel until the 15th.  There's much more I need to be focused on.  Moons is really out of sorts.  Yesterday she kept claiming she felt sad and wanted to cry.  I don't know where that's come from, she keeps asking when we are going and when she should pack her bag.  Its heart wrenching to see her like this.  I need to get her into school, away from the boredom, but they all have waiting lists.  Steve's really stressed, he has to keep taking time off work for my interviews, the move and now court.  Which we have no choice but to drag the girls along to.  I ache for normality!  On the plus side, trying to find a silver lining (a la Wiznton), the sun is out, so I can get through the piles of washing!  I don't know how people cope without a tumble dryer!  I can't wait to get one in our new place!  I intend to take the girls for a stroll along the beach as well. Ah, lovely sun.
