The ups and downs of our planned new life to NZ, warts and all!

Going over the Bombay HillsSun 5 August 2007

Yesterday we left the boundary of Auckland, the Bombay Hills.  As we drove away, a sense of being relaxed overcame all of us.  Steve and I started chatting and laughing together, and I finally got that excited - 'we're in New Zealand!' feeling.  We headed to the Waikato, which is beautiful.  Its where Steve was born and then returned after living in Vanuatu.  It has some good memories for him, we went to look at his old house, he remarked on all the changes, fondly recalled the time he crashed his car into the house?!! Yes, boys memories are far different from girls' memorys of childhood!  We had lunch in a place in town, the food was wonderful.  It was SO nice to be out of Auckland, to be away from the house, away from all the hassles.  We were sad to be back, today we all curled up in bed and slept through most of it.  We were all exhausted, especially the girls still recovering from their illnesses.  Moons temperature is a bit high again today.  I feel miserable to be back, yesterday seemed so full of possibilities, but today its the same old.  I feel fat and sluggish, unhealthy.  Our rut has been even more identified, but I do feel that there is light at the end of the tunnel.  Things are going to change, its just a case of waiting.  And I have all these big ideas, such as joining a gym, taking care of myself a bit more, persuring things that are of interest  to me outside of the family home and work.  It'll just be nice to feel settled for once.

Oh, and the poo is STILL there!  I figure it'll just rot away on its own.  I realise I know little about human waste!  I can't imagine having these problems in our new place!
