So I received my work permit within 30 days!! Not bad considering I was told 60 days! I was feeling really glum, checked my account online and there it was! So no word on residency, but doubt I will hear about that for a long time. I got very proactive on the job hunt (even though I'd not received my passport back!). I registered with an agency, had an interview the next day with the council and was offered a six month contract! And its the top end of the temp salary!! - Not bad, considering in my interview I said environment was more important to me than salary. The job sounds challenging and demanding. I'm a little anxious about returning to the workforce. I've not used the computer for work purposes for so long and I don't know if I still have it in me to manage me! Eek! I guess time will tell. It'll be weird leaving for work in the morning. Moons will have longer hours at school, and I need to arrange a Nanny for Pip. I keep getting all emotional thinking about leaving Pip with someone else. But I've never considered myself a real 'stay at home' Mum, I like the career. And my salary will be a real extra boost. I'm nervous, but I think I can manage myself. All trained up and have ID for my new voluntary role! Apparantly I have my first case, just have to wait and see what that's about. Not much else to diarise at the moment. But happy to have work permit at last! - Hope the residency runs as smoothly.
