All settled in the new place, its a beautiful house so much better than the other place! It really feels like a 'home.' Of course, its not been smooth. For the first week, Telecom kept screwing up our phone and internet, we either had one or other, never both and no one seemed to know and everyday an engineer would go somewhere and write in his report that it was sorted, so I had to make endless calls (on the mobile!). We also didn't have hot water for the first week. The car keeps breaking down! Its been a blur of angry phone calls! We seem to be getting there. Steve bought a new car, a Ford Falcon which he's chuffed to bits with. He loves it! I'm happy for him, he deserves it. I've finished my voluntary training, and I'm looking forward to getting out on the feild! By next week I will be on shift, raring to go, albeit a little anxious! I went out last night with some of the girls from the training, had a good night. Ended up leaving the car in the pub overnight and crashing at Linda's! Whoops! But I definetly felt the need for a good night out. The dog is settling in well. We bought her a beautiful big kennel, but tonight the weather's been really bad, so she's been allowed to come and curl up by the fire. I'm really glad we have a fire here, makes all the difference. Of an evening, lounging on the sofa, drinking red wine, roaring fire. Shame its not Christmas! Moons has done some trial days at a new school, she seems to like it and the teacher is really impressed with her development for her age. She officially starts next week, 9-12 everyday. I'm sure there will be tears (only from me!) next week! She has a new school bag, little lunchbox, eek!
Pip said her first word, 'Dada' much to my dismay!! I thought this time, I'd get a mention first. Steve is really happy about that, Pip is very proud of her little self! She seems to know she's saying something good, but can't quite understand our enthusiasm, so she giggles and smiles and waves her arms and legs around excitedly.
Cheeky is lying on her bed, on her back, legs in the air!! I guess she's enjoying this fire!
I'm hoping for an uneventful few months at least! I seem to be constantly battling out something. I'm feeling quite weary, but amongst the stress we've had some great times and been very lucky. Still rather be here than the UK! Looking forward to more good times! |
