So, things are going really well here. Have eased up on trademe, hehe! We've spent the last week moving stuff from our current rental, to the garage in the new place. Moonie LOVES running through it and pointing out everyone's bedrooms! And she always remembers hers!! I can't wait to get it organised for her, she is going to love it! Every time we leave the new house, its gut wrenching. We just want to get in and get organised. God this month is going SO SLOWLY! Last night went for our wedding anniversary. Steve surprised by arranging a babysitter and booking a restuarant, can't remember the last time we went out together! He had booked a classy place in the city, but I said I fancied having a curry and a few beers in what will become our local. When we backpacked around together, we used to love going into bars and meeting the locals. We met some amazing people. Steve was shocked that I wanted that and not a flash place! But he was happy of course. So off we went for a curry, we were treated like VIPs! The chefs came out to meet us, the owner came out to introduce himself! It was wonderful food, and we really enjoyed it. Being free again, I didn't want the night to end, so we spotted only one bar was open. Apparantly it was a private function, we sneaked in, hoping to get away with it, but realised that everyone was staring at us, they were Maori!! It was a womans 50th birthday party, her hubby came and spoke to us, he was really friendly about it and we had free drinks! People would come up and speak to us to suss us out and we had to keep pretending we were friends and knew this woman! They were a great bunch, it was a great night, just like the old days. As usual when I have beer in my hand, Steve had to drag me away from the function as time edged to midnight.
This morning I had a wicked headache and I didn't want to be dealing with a toddler! The bad side to drinking when you have kids! Especially ones that still depend on you for food and drink, etc! Its been a long time since Steve and I had a night out like that. We really enjoyed it. I hope we can do that more often.
Still on painkillers, but the ribs are improving, hopefully be ready for the big move! Moving all the stuff from the garage to the house. Have loads of ideas of where stuff is going to go, although Steve and I aren't entirely on the same page! The house looks so beautiful, and so spacious. I am sick of living in this small space, and I really fancy a bath!
Hopefully next time I add to this, we'll be in! |
