At 9am this morning the bidding closed and I was the proud owner of Honda 1994!!  A beaten old banger, but incredibly useful for now.  Steve promises I can upgrade in a few months!!  Trademe is SO addictive!!  But its how we found this rental property and our new car, so its pretty good.   When the bidding stopped, we emailed the guy and then spoke over the phone.  All sounded legitimate, so off we went to get it.  I followed Steve back in the Ford Falcon, god we're going to miss that car!!  Still, I'm so happy that we have wheels and no rental costs.  We also visited another rental property that was my ideal until we saw the big one the other day.  This house is in a really nice area and has a pool and tennis court.  The house is spacious the decor is slightly older, its also quite grubby.  There are some selling points that made us question our desicion about the one in Kumeu, the pool, the smaller property will be easier to maintain, great area, beautiful views of the country and see.  Not far from the beach and a great room for the girls to play in.  On the down side, the rooms are much smaller, no en suites, its slightly more expensive, the grounds are very rugged, so we'd easily lose Caitlin!!  It worked out well because the landlord of the other property asked to meet us, we met at the property so we got another look.  We both feel that its for us, and the landlord is happy for a contract to be drawn up!!  So on Friday all that will be sorted.  In one week, we have a car, and pretty much secured a home!  How exciting!  Have started bidding for loads of furniture on trademe.  Am still winning on a couple of cars which Steve will kill me about!
