It's odd going
to stores today on Mother's Day. For one thing, I was wished "Happy
Mother's Day" which is presumptious 'cos I'm not a mother unless you
count being parent to two rodents!
I didn't respond by saying "Happy Mother's Day" back 'cos I'm not going to assume every adult female is a mother...
Since it's US Mother's Day (UK Mother's Day falls earlier in the year),
preparation for this for my Mother in Law occurs well in advance
because she lives in another state. I'd seen the perfect gift for her
whilst visiting Asheville, NC, last month.
Custom-made
smellies from a store named "Bath Junkie". So, I bought her a body
scrub scented with a Lancome clone of Miracle. I had the scrub colored
pink too 'cos that's the color of Miracle's packaging. I also bought a
bottle of shower gel which was blended with a combination of ginger and
lime essential oils and had that colored a pale green.
To
finish off the customization, customers get to choose from a variety of
colored tissue for the purchase. It's all very personalized so you can
choose almost exactly what you want for the recipient. For the
alcoholics out there, I think there was a limited selection of scents
reminiscent of your favorite hard liquor!
I had to repack the gifts before mailing it out about a week ago. My
MIL received her gift early and guessed that it was for Mother's Day
but I do believe she did open it today.
I've yet to learn of her reaction to her present.
I shall have to drop hints to my other half about this store 'cos I'd like some stuff from there too.
