Merry Christmas to Everyone

To all that read my blog

I would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, I will try to keep up the work so you can see how our adventure turns out.  Including all the ups and downs of or rollar coaster ride in Edmonton Alberta.

To Everyone wanting to come out to Canada

I hope your dreams come true for 2009.  I know some of you are struggling to sell yor houses and that is the last hurdle you need to do to get out here.  Sending you all good house selling karma.

To all you guys I chat with on BE

There are some times when I get down, and this site is a great "pick me up".  I've asked some strange questions since I've been a member here.  Someone has always replied to me and being out here not knowing where to get important stuff or even just not knowing general stuff.  .  So guys, thanks for all your help and I wish you all a Merry Christmas and all the best for 2009.

To British Expats.com, and all that make it happen.

I know this site can be a little hard work at times and we are a little like school children.  I would have been very lost from day one without it.  Its been a great source of information and an excellent idea that has brought many people close together.  I've made several friend out of it all over the world, and there isn't a tme I can't go on and find someone I know and can have a good chat with.  Wishing all the moderators a very Happy Christmas and keep up the good work in 2009.

Dog update

Little Harvey is back home and feeling a little better, the swelling has gone down.  He wasn't eating any food but last night when we were chatting to Neil's parents he has had a little food.  I bet if the little bugger got Chicken or Beef he would't turn his nose up at that.  It is a bit less of a worry now I know he is on the mend.

What are we doing for Christmas?

The answer to that is nothing special.  I'm making Beef, Yorkshire Pudding and roast potatoes.  Yum Yum.

Last Night

Our Landlady and Landlord invited us to Church again.  I know what you are all thinking and no we aren't going to be going all the time.  Its one of them Happy Clappy ones,   I had a good time singing Christmas Carols though I have to admit that.

At the end we all sang Slient Night and lit candles it was such a pretty sight, yes I took a photo

See the guy just to the left, he really was going for it.  Dancing and clapping his hands, it was funny.

We invited our Landlady and Landlord over for a tea and they chatted with us for over an hour and half, I'm sure she never wants to leave when she comes.  She's such a sweet lady.

Well once again I wish you all a Merry Christmas and all the best for 2009

My dog's ill and at the Vet

I feel a little upset, now.

As most of you regulars know we decided to leave Harvey back in the UK with Neil's parents.  Yesterday they informed us that is penis had swelled up.  At first I just thought he had cocked his leg up by some neetles, as he is forever doing ths or sticking hs head in and hurtng his poor nose.

Neil and I were informed that this isn't the case and Harvey was really uncomfortable.  Neil's parents took him to a local vet yesterday and they ran a few checks on him and have put him on a drip of penacilin.  They said he would have to stay in over night.

I woke up this morning and asked Neil wheather his parents have been to pick hm up but apparently he is having to stop in yet another night and pick him up tomorrow! (Christmas Day)  I didn't realise he was that bad, Neil's Aunt said this happened to one of her dogs and not to worry.  I'm not sure if its because of bloody Christmas and emotions run very high during this time of year.

I also think of the high vet charge they could be getting because they are having to work over Christmas, and they might be doing it on purpose to get more cash.  Sorry I'm just one of them kinds of thinkers.

Professional Princess

Hi, chick, I have no idea if you ever drop by my blog  but I would like to wish you a Merry Christmas.  I have no idea what you go through each year as it must be very tough for you.  As another year goes by I would like to wish you a great and happy 2009, I hope your wishes come true for the New Year.

A great Day

Our Container Came

Yes you read that right, our container came today.  As I am writing this now I have my feet up and I'm sat on my leather couch.  Yes its late or should I say early, its 1:17am and I don't want to go to bed which is funny because in the morning I won't want to get out.   The container people came at around 8:30am.  I went and got the key for the elevator yesterday, as we live in an apartment.  You need the key to stop the lift door from opening and shutting.

The guys were really very good and I had a laugh and a joke with them which was even better.

The only thing that got damaged was a bottle of Champagne, it was a bottle from our wedding in 2004 and I have never found the occasion to drink it.  Also Neil is T total so a whole bottle by myself is a bit crap.

Update on the car situation

As most of you will know by now we have had a really tough time with the car front.  Yesterday Neil managed to insure the car.  We thought we had the insurance sorted with the help of a fellow  Expact but it turned out that the Insurance company he had reccomended gave us a qoute with a company in Leduc which is quite a way a way from Edmonton (without a car it is anyway)  This is because they insisted that they wanted Neil to go their office to sign some paperwork or something.

I managed to find another company on Yellow pages CA and Neil went in on his lunch break.  He managed to insure me and himself as well as the apartment for less that he got the other insurance for.  We had proof of no claims from England and they took this into account and gave us a figure of $1,400 which  I am quite pleased about.

On Friday night  we went into the Registry and got our plate and registration.

Today we went to pick up our car, I am so pleased with it, I feel like a little girl.

I'm wanting to give it a new name, I'm thinking Neo or Trinity in keeping with the Matrix theme.  I must wear my green coat and take another picture.  (A long running joke on Expats)
