Bang, Bang!

We went to a Shooting Range.

I've been wanting to do this ever since I saw it at West Ed Mall.  The thought of holding onto a real gun with real 9mm bullets did kind of scare me though.

So yesterday we went to the Shooting Range.  They have a bullet proof window that you can look through.  You can't help but laugh when you see someone jumping at each bullet their partner shoots.

I very nearly chickened out, but pushed myself into it.  I think Neil would do anything if I was game for it.  We signed a disclaimer form and were told to get some safety glasses and some ear muff things.

We each had a guy tell us how to load the gun up, then we got a try with two bullets first.  I held up this small black gun and looked through to find the centre of the target.  I counted to three, pulled back the trigger and BANG the gun went off.  No joke I started shaking, I was scared of the damn thing but I also felt an adrenaline rush.  I quickly fired the other round and put the gun back down.

The guy had loaded up another ten rounds for me, I had no idea how I was going to get through all fifty I struggled letting off two!

OK  another ten, lets get a grip Cassie, I held up the gun again and I knew Neil was going to do better than me if I didn't sort myself out.  I tried to get a firm grip and keep the gun straight and steady.  I let off another ten.  I was starting to feel slightly better at this, after I let off all ten I pressed the realease and the bullet holder droped on the floor.   Good job it was empty.

The guy loaded another ten, then passed it to me.  I confidently clicked the pack in, and pressed a button in and I was ready to fire again.  No joke at one point I got in a fluster again, and started shaking and for some reason I closed my eyes.

I think it took about 4 mins to blow away fifty shots but it seemed longer and I couldn't wait to get out of there.  Oh and before I forget, as I was waiting to get my next ten rounds I was jumping when Neil was shooting.  It was such a loud noise, you can imagine what it must feel like if one of them hit a human body, at that force.  Also as Neil was popping off his rounds an empty shell flew over and hit me on the thumb, it hurt a little.

Here's the results

Good Work

I took my wife shooting for the first time 12 months ago. She loved it. We went back recently and she managed to shoot off about 200 rounds.
