Friday
Well, guys I think I need to catch up on the old blog entry. I've missed a few days and thought it best to leave the laptop at home.
Friday was my first day at the job, well kind of. I had to sit in the managers office reading and reading and doing more reading. I must have read Health and Safety stuff and welcome booklets for a good two hours. Did it make me want to sleep, yes it did.
He let me off reading it all but that is my homework before my next shift tomorrow. I have a big envelope of boring stuff to read!
Apparently he is going to be teaching me how to use a till and I am crapping myself, I've never used one before in my life.
They are all a pretty good group of people, I will be able to have a good time at work for once. That's very refreshing.
The manager was showing me around the store then he showed me one of the changing rooms. He was just telling me that there is a mirror, chair and trash can then he said "there's also two hooks" He went to just gently pull one to show me then he broke it off. I had to laugh and I also asked him " Sorry *****, how many hooks do you have, there appears to only be one now!".
You can have a great laugh with the manager, he's very down to earth but I wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of him though.
The only rubbish thing about this job is I have no paid holidays for a whole year! He said if I was ever wanting to take holidays I just need to inform him before hand. As its a part-time job, I'm not entitled to the same as a full time person. I am contracted to work between 15 - 30 hours a week at least I will be making plenty of money, looking on the bright side. I knew holidays were going to be an issue, but I'll get over it.
Weekend

After work on Friday, I went up to meet Neil at his work as we were going on a trip to Fernie in BC. Its an annual trip they go to different resorts but this time it was Fernie.
It took seven hours to get there which is normal for these guys and was worth it. We weren't drivng as there was a couch arranged. We all had to wear PJ's which was pretty handy because we got to Fernie after midnight., all you had to do was brush your teeth and crawl into bed.
We were sharing a room with one of Neil's work friends and two of his mates. They were a good group and we had such good fun.
We stuck with them for the whole weekend, we went out to one of the best Indian restaurants we have been to since moving here and probally one of the best I have ever been to ever in England. It was called the Currie Bowl and it was on the main high street in Fernie. If you are ever that way please try and get in you won't be disappointed at all. You may have to wait, we had a half hour wait.

The skiing was great, we all had a fantastic weekend. Roll on next ski trip.
