We have seen a car
I meet Neil yesterday on his lunch to take the hire car back, after we did that we went and had a look around some cars. We stopped at a second hand car garage and got chatting to the guy there. We said how we wanted a cheap to run car, gets you from A to B, cheap on insurance and we didn't want to spend too much money.
He showed us a 2005 Toyota Matrix 1.8l 4cyl Automatic car, it looks quite nice and it pasted the Neil test (he is 6 foot 7 and fits in). It only had about 50,000 kms on it and has its full service history with the garage. Its very basic with no central locking but to be honest its less things to go wrong with it. It probally won't get nicked from the car park, not saying that it would.
We are going back on Saturday to test drive it. I think it is the best time to buy a car, you can test the wheels and brakes in the worst conditions. Also make sure the blowers are working etc etc. I'm not saying the price or where it is as I don't want anyone beating us to it.
Curling Club
We walked to our nearest Curling Club last night, I must admit that it was much more further away than I thought but its exercise right. It took us over half an hour.
We got there and it was ladies night, I think Neil was the only bloke there apart from the two guys that worked there. The Manageress was out playing so we went upstairs and had a hot chocolate while we were waiting. There was a great view of the ice from up there, (what do you call a Curling pitch?)

They finished playing at about 8pm so we only waited for about an hour, we went downstairs to try and get some information.
The lady informed me that the beginners classes are only at the beginning of the year, in August some time and I had missed them. I stupidly thought they would have one once a week. She said that I could join an existing group and they would show me what to do. I'm not quite sure about that though, I don't want to spoil anyones game! They might hit me with one of their brushes.
She asked me for my telephone number but that is one thing we haven't got round to doing yet. She asked me to call her back when I wanted to start and with that we left.
As I have touched on the mobile phone bit I just want to have a little moan. Why is Pay as You Go not what it is like over in England. It still seems like contract to me and it confusses the hell out of both me and Neil. We must get some sort of phone sorted out though, I think I am just going to go for a contract of maybe two years. Also why do you have to pay for incoming calls as well as the outgoing ones. (ok rant over)
Off to Church
Yes that's right we are off to Church to see the play that our landlady got us the tickets for. I'll report back on that tomorrow. Its another opportunity to meet people and I will try and get some pics of it.
