Getting on with it

Say bye to the hire car, Cassie.

Oh well, the hire car has to go back today, the two weeks are up so I am taking it in at 11:50am it has to be in by 12 noon.  I'm going to finish one or two bits off and reluctently take it to the office.  It has been a nice little car and we are considering buying one.  Nice and cheap to run, but you do see them about alot, they are common.

Our neighbours

I bumped into our neighbour straight across from us yesterday afternoon.  I had loads of shopping bags as I had just been to the grocery store and he was just taking the rubbish out.  They are a lovely old couple he was telling me how his relatives emigrated here in the 1600's.  After a short chat with him I told him that I would knock when we had finished our tea as I wanted to introduce Neil to them.

As promised we knocked and they invited us in for a chat.  We were there for a least half hour if not more.  I always find Canadians interesting.  They know so much about their social history it make me embarrassed because I know hardly anything about my country.  They are always interested about populations etc etc.

I wrote them a Cristmas Card out as I am so bad at remembering names, its the best way to remember as I can write a list out for future reference.  that's if they send one back of course.

They have a lovely pet cat, and they were saying that it always used to come in our apartment when the other people used to live here.  To be honest I wouldn't mind someone else's pet coming in, I love animals and it makes me think of Harvey.

They were saying that a lady across the hall looks after their cat when they are away so hopefully we might be able to offer if the other lady can't do it and they will agree.

I also wrote out  a Christmas card for the lady I met in the parkage the other day and the person that lives next door to us.

Speaking of Christmas Cards we got our first Canadian one off the girl at the bank, that really brought a smile to my face.  I am on my way in today to return one to her, I thought that was really nice of her to do that.

Curling

I love watchng curling, but I have always fancied having a go at it as well, so if Neil fancies it later on we are going to take a walk out to our local Curling Club.  I think I might have a gander on the web to see what it says before hand though.  We have to join a team and its another way to get out of the apartment and meet people.

Notice Boards

I  noticed in Calgary when we were over in July that on notice boards in Supermarkets there were information about clubs and meet ups so I am going to have a stop by on my walk back from the hire car office, I must remember to take my snow studs with me.

Well that's me up to date so far.  I'll be back.
