So... your dogs had cosmetic surgery?

I took Harvey to the vet today to get his Pet Passport sorted but unknown to me they wanted additional information and I didn't take the forms with me which is kind of fustrating.  Why didn't they ask me to bring these documents when I made the appointment, I just don't know.

I took the Rabies certificate and as he was writing the date of birth he stated it was 04/09/2000 when it isn't its 08/05/2000.  Apparently I can't change it now as this is on his rabies certifcate and if I was to change it Harvey would have to do the rabies injection and blood test all over again.  (Cassie, take deep breaths)

The vet wanted Harvey's Record of Booster and Vacination Card and also a Certificate for his microchip which I don't remember ever seeing but I managed to find it filed away in the dogs file.

I think I will pop by again later today and drop off the information so we can get his passport sorted.

While we were there, Neil has been complaining about a wart on the top of his head...... the dogs that is.  He has been hasseling me for ages for Harvey to have it removed.  Today I decided to take the plunge and have it removed.  £96 later and a dog with three staples in his head and wanting to run out of the vet, it was all done.  Poor Harvey.

As we were waiting to pay another cutomer asked if Harvey had hurt his head in some way.  I said no and proceeded to tell him the story.  He then said 'so your dogs had cosmetic surgery, is it going to be botox next'?  I got all defensive and told him that it wasn't my idea but my husbands, had it have been my choice then I wouldn't have had it done at all.  The vets assistant then said 'well its better off then on, now he can chase all those Canadian Girl dogs'

We have an appointment in two weeks to have the staples removed, I feel we are always at the bloody vet nowadays I should get discount.

Update

I took the said forms into the vet to get the passport sorted, to add another thing to all this.  I must admit that I don't think the vet would have carried out the procedure if he thought it was unnecessary.  He did say that Harvey could catch the wart and it is better to have it taken off.  Also it did seem to be getting bigger it kind of looked like a tick and people did keep asking me if it was or not.

Its a bit blurred because he wouldn't keep his head still

Aww poor dog, if it wasn't bothering Harvey and purely just a wart then no, I would not have had it removed.

People are weird

He had a wart, you had it removed - big deal. I'm sure Harvey's over it and probably not dealing with image issues as a result. Don't pay attention to any remarks about the wart removal, my Nan's got a bloody ugly wart on her face, I wish I could get her to remove it - she looks like a cartoon witch!
